The Escort Passport 9500i is purchased considerably more than the Beltronics STi. However in that price range I would recommend the Valentine One. It is by far the best in its price range and has recently been used to beat the Cannonball Run (a race from NY to California) record time by more than an hour with a time of 31 hours and 4 minutes. Thats an average speed of 90MPH on public roads.

Spending a lot of money on a radar detector will not help you. The only way to avoid tickets using a radar detector is to understand the environment in which radar guns and radar detectors operate. Hills, trees, low vehicle profiles and traffic are your best friends.
