if you can only afford one, then u should obviously get the radar detector. If u buy a gps that helps make traveling easier, well then you;ll be spending more money than you have on trips.

Personally i would pick the GPS cuz (1) it’s really good to have when traveling, especially in your own city –it picks out good shortcuts most times and (2) in some states radar detectors are illegal. Besides, are you a person that gets tickets on a regular basis? If so then get the radar and be at your own risk for a speeding and radar ticket.

I have both, and of the two, I use the GPS more, just because it is fun to play with. If you have to be somewhere and you don’t know where it is, the GPS will put you right at the door. Especially in residential neighborhoods where it is impossible to remember all the streets names.
Radar detectors are not infallible and you can still get caught, especially with the laser ones. When they go off you are already had so fuh-get about it.

Radar for sure, if you’re in college like me, you probably dont have alot of money to go on trips, so GPS wouldn’t help that much, but, as a college student, i know how much an extra few minutes of sleep can help, and how much faster going 10-15mph over the limit gets you places, i’d love to have a radar.
